What is Snap Recap?

Unlike other year-end recaps that focus on detailed statistics, the Snap Recap offers a more casual look back. It selects a single Snap from each month, providing a visual journey through your year. It's a less data-driven, more sentimental approach to reminiscing. The recap seamlessly transitions into your other Snapchat Memories, allowing you to explore past events.

How to Access Your 2024 Snap Recap

Your 2024 Snap Recap is automatically generated and easily accessible. Simply swipe up from the main camera screen to open Memories (avoid pressing the shutter button). The Recap should appear prominently at the top of the Memories screen.

Tap the recap video (avoiding the share icon) to view it. The video plays automatically, showcasing your chosen Snaps. You can tap the screen to advance if needed. You can save, edit, share, or even add your recap to your Story. Like other Snaps, it remains private unless you choose to share it.

Why Don't I Have a Snap Recap?

If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't showing up, don't worry. Snapchat Support states the rollout is gradual. Your recap might simply not be ready yet. The number of saved Snaps is a factor in whether a recap is generated. Infrequent Snapchat use might also prevent a recap from appearing. Unfortunately, requesting a recap isn't possible.
