Farlight Games, fresh off their successful 2024 collaboration with Lilith Games on AFK Journey, has a new mobile title in soft launch: Ace Trainer. This intriguing blend of tower defense, pinball, and creature collection is currently available in select regions, including South Korea and the US.
Ace Trainer puts a unique spin on the familiar monster-collecting genre. Instead of traditional turn-based battles, players deploy their fantastical creatures against waves of zombies in a tower defense style. The game also incorporates pinball mechanics for resource gathering, adding another layer of strategic depth.
A Risky Gamble?
Ace Trainer's eclectic mix of gameplay elements – PvP, PvE, tower defense, and pinball – is ambitious, to say the least. While the popularity of each individual mechanic is undeniable, their simultaneous inclusion raises questions about long-term engagement and balance. The game's success will likely hinge on how well these disparate elements are integrated.
