Cavill's surge in popularity follows Bezos' tweet, fueled by Bond enthusiasts advocating for the Superman and Witcher star to succeed Daniel Craig. His involvement in Amazon's Warhammer 40,000 project further fuels speculation.

Interestingly, Cavill previously auditioned for Casino Royale (2006), a performance director Martin Campbell deemed "tremendous." However, at 23, he was considered too young. Campbell later stated that Cavill would have been an excellent Bond had Daniel Craig not been cast. Cavill himself acknowledged he might not have been ready then and praised Craig's performance.

While producers actively sought Craig's successor after No Time to Die, Cavill's age (40) presents a potential consideration. Campbell noted that actors often commit to three films, a timeframe that could see Cavill nearing 50 by the end of a potential trilogy.
