Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is undergoing its official stress test. While some Sony console players received early access, developers advise a game reinstall for those skipping the test.
Patch 8's standout feature is cross-platform play, uniting PC and console players. Friends across platforms can join, provided they have linked Larian accounts. Surprisingly, modded gameplay is also cross-compatible, but with limitations: all mods must be available across PC, Mac, and consoles, and the host's mod count shouldn't exceed ten.
Multiplayer receives a significant boost with the addition of split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S, a feature previously unavailable on this console.
Further enhancements in Patch 8 include a highly customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, enhancing replayability. Bug fixes and balance adjustments are also included, though some issues persist. A comprehensive changelog for the stress test is available on the game's official website.
