Key Weaknesses & Strategies:

  • Habitat: Ruins of Wyveria
  • Breakable Parts: Head, Tail, Legs
  • Elemental Weakness: Water
  • Effective Status Effects: Poison (2x), Sleep (2x), Paralysis (3x), Blastblight (2x), Stun (2x)
  • Ineffective Status Effect: Exhaust

Taming the Speed Demon:

Ebony Odogaron's speed is its most frustrating trait. Here's how to counter it:

  • Stunning: Utilize Flash Pods or nearby Flashflies to stun the beast, creating crucial openings.
  • Teamwork: Summoning allies via SOS flares is highly recommended. NPCs can serve as effective distractions.
  • Environmental Hazards: Utilize the Entangled Rocks found in specific areas. Pulling them down with your slinger stuns the monster (one-time use per fight). Pitfall and Shock Traps offer additional immobilization opportunities.

Addressing Additional Threats:

  • Dragonblight: Ebony Odogaron inflicts Dragonblight, hindering your elemental and status effect damage. Counter this with Nulberries or Level 3 Dragon/Blight Resistance decorations.
  • Paralysis: Prioritize inflicting Paralysis. This status effect significantly reduces its mobility, making it easier to attack. Combining this with a knockdown near roots can further entangle it.

Optimal Attack Strategies:

  • Head Targeting: The head is the primary weak point (3-star weakness). However, this exposes you to its attacks.
  • Alternative Targets: The forelegs and tail offer less damage but safer attack opportunities, potentially breaking limbs.

Capturing Ebony Odogaron:

To capture Ebony Odogaron, reduce its health to 20% or less and use a Pitfall or Shock Trap. Attempting capture at higher health will result in escape.

Guardian Hunt result.
