The Patch 8 stress test update addresses various bugs, crashes, and scripting errors. Improvements include ensuring Gale's proper use of magical items, maintaining container contents upon destruction, enhanced Steam Deck Photo Mode functionality, more responsive character poses, improved cross-play, and corrected Booming Blade tooltip values. For a comprehensive list of fixes, consult the official Baldur's Gate 3 website. Access to this update is limited to those participating in the stress test.

Patch 8 is anticipated to be a significant update, incorporating cross-platform play and over twelve new subclasses (including Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter), along with the highly-requested Photo Mode.

Unprecedented Photo Mode Customization

A preview video showcases the extensive capabilities of the new Photo Mode. Accessible during gameplay, combat, and even multiplayer sessions (by the host), it allows for precise character posing, inclusion of additional elements (like a frog!), and a freely-moving camera. Post-processing effects, stickers, and frames further enhance customization. Note that pose manipulation is restricted during dialogues and cutscenes; only post-processing is available.

Larian plans to release additional tutorials to help players maximize Photo Mode's creative potential.
