Breaking: Marvel Rivals Mods Removed, Nexus Mods Owner Threatened

Nexus Mods faces backlash after removing political Marvel Rivals mods. The platform removed over 500 user-created modifications in a single month, sparking controversy after deleting mods that replaced Captain America's head with images of both Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

Nexus Mods owner, TheDarkOne, clarified on Reddit that both mods were removed simultaneously to prevent accusations of political bias. However, this action has not quelled the outrage, with TheDarkOne reporting receiving death threats and other abuse.

"We removed the Biden mod the same day as the Trump mod to avoid bias. Yet, YouTube commentators remain strangely silent," TheDarkOne stated. TheDarkOne further added, "We're now receiving death threats, being called pedophiles, and subjected to all sorts of insults simply because someone chose to escalate this issue."

This isn't the first time Nexus Mods has faced criticism over mod removals. A similar incident occurred in 2022 involving a Spider-Man Remastered mod that replaced rainbow flags. The platform's stance on inclusivity and its rejection of content deemed anti-diversity was explicitly stated at the time.

TheDarkOne concluded, "We refuse to engage with those who find this situation worthy of outrage."
