Call of Duty: Warzone Experiencing Lobby Crashing Issue

by Jonathan Feb 10,2025

Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

This follows a period of reported issues, including a temporary offline matchmaking period in late December 2024 and ongoing problems with cheating and bugs. The latest glitch, reported on January 6th, caused games to freeze or crash during the loading process.

In response to player frustration over unwarranted penalties, Raven Software announced on January 9th a temporary suspension of Skill Rating (SR) penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses the issue of players being penalized for bugs outside their control. Penalties will still apply for players leaving matches mid-game.

Although this mitigates the immediate impact, the underlying bug remains unfixed. This continues a trend of persistent bugs despite a major update in early January 2025, causing ongoing disruption to Ranked play. The development team is actively working to resolve these issues.
