Employee Recognition Soars at Stellar Blade Studio with Bonuses, PS5 Pros

Shift Up, the developer behind the acclaimed action-adventure game Stellar Blade, recently rewarded its employees with a generous year-end bonus: a PlayStation 5 Pro and approximately $3,400. This significant gesture follows the game's remarkable success since its April 2024 release.

Stellar Blade's popularity continues to soar, fueled by positive player and critic reception (averaging an 82 on OpenCritic) and several high-profile collaborations. Despite initial controversy, the game's fast-paced combat, striking art style, and memorable soundtrack have garnered widespread praise. The game's ongoing success is further evidenced by its numerous awards and nominations.

The celebratory bonuses, including the PlayStation 5 Pros, were announced via a heartwarming video shared on Shift Up's Twitter account. All 300+ employees received this bonus package, a testament to the company's appreciation for their hard work. A company representative stated the bonuses aim to incentivize and motivate employees for future projects. This generosity comes after Shift Up's hugely successful $320 million initial public offering in July 2024, making it the second-largest IPO in South Korea that year.

Stellar Blade's success continues with ongoing collaborations, including a Nier: Automata crossover in November 2024, adding new content and costumes. A future collaboration with Goddess of Victory: Nikke has also been announced, though details remain scarce. A holiday event launched in mid-December, introducing festive decorations, music, and costumes.

Initially a PlayStation 5 exclusive, Stellar Blade is slated for a PC release in 2025. This decision, announced in June 2024, follows the game's impressive sales figures: one million units sold within its first two months on PS5. Shift Up anticipates strong performance on the PC platform.
