The Follow-Up to Cards, the Universe and Everything Is Here, and It’s All About Monsters

Rifts are rarely good news in gaming, but Avid Games has fully embraced the chaos with Eerie Worlds, the highly anticipated sequel to Cards, the Universe and Everything. This tactical CCG retains the fun and educational elements of its predecessor, but shifts the focus to the terrifying world of monsters.

Monsters bursting forth from rifts, to be precise. Avid Games has crafted a visually stunning array of monsters, each inspired by real-world horrors from mythology and folklore.

The game boasts an incredibly diverse roster. Expect encounters with Japanese Yokai like Jikininki and Kuchisake, alongside Slavic creatures such as Vodyanoy and Psoglav. Bigfoot, Mothman, the Nandi Bear, El Chupacabra, and countless other terrifying entities from global folklore are all represented. Each card includes a detailed, well-researched description, ensuring an engaging and informative gameplay experience.

Eerie Worlds features four Alliances (Grimbald, Zerrofel, Rivin, and Synnig) and multiple Hordes, creating complex tactical possibilities. Monsters may share some properties but differ in others, adding significant strategic depth.

Your monster collection, known as your Grimoire, can be upgraded by merging duplicate cards. While the game starts with 160 base cards, merging unlocks many more, with additional cards planned for the near future.

Avid Games has announced two more Hordes arriving in the coming months, guaranteeing continued challenge and replayability.

Gameplay involves constructing a deck of nine monster cards and one world card, then engaging in nine intense 30-second turns. Players must make crucial decisions regarding mana usage, synergistic combinations, and more.
