Fortnite's Chapter 6 Season 1 update introduces a highly anticipated feature: using Fortnite Festival instruments as pickaxes and back blings! This addition, accessible via a new "instruments" option in the locker, has been met with enthusiastic player response.
Beyond the instrument integration, the update boasts new cosmetics from the Godzilla collaboration, including outfits and accessories. This builds on December 2024's additions of Ballistic, LEGO Fortnite: Brick Life, and Fortnite OG modes.
Fortnite Festival itself continues to expand, offering a unique gameplay experience likened to Guitar Hero, featuring licensed music, instrument cosmetics, and recently added local co-op. The mode's popularity is further bolstered by collaborations with prominent artists like Snoop Dogg, Metallica, and Lady Gaga.
The ability to equip instruments as both pickaxes and back blings simultaneously is a key highlight. Selecting an instrument as a pickaxe temporarily removes it from the back bling slot, returning it upon switching items. This update also includes a Hatsune Miku crossover, adding new outfits and instruments.
The streamlined "instruments" sorting option in the locker provides easy access to these new cosmetic choices. Existing instruments previously limited to back bling or pickaxe use have also received updates for compatibility within Fortnite Festival.
Finally, the Godzilla collaboration delivers pink and blue edit styles, along with unlockable accessories like wraps, harvesters, and gliders, earned through battle pass challenges. The abundance of new content has generated significant excitement within the Fortnite community.
