Confronting the massive Abductors in Freedom Wars Remastered is a challenge even outside the Panopticon's holding cells and The Warren. These relentless giants demand strategic combat, pushing players to master their arsenal. The game offers a variety of weapons and items to aid Sinners in these intense battles, and the Flare Knife is a particularly useful tool against these powerful foes. This guide details how to acquire and effectively utilize the Flare Knife.
The Flare Knife is surprisingly accessible early in the game. Once you achieve Level 003 Code Clearance, simply visit Zakka in The Warren. Zakka's shop stocks a range of weapons and items, including the Flare Knife, available for 3,000 Entitlement Points.
Equipping the Flare Knife is straightforward. Navigate to the Loadout menu within the Personal Responsibility Portal and select an available Combat Item slot. Your Flare Knife will appear in the list if you've purchased it, ready for deployment.
The Flare Knife, described as a reusable combat tool for severing Abductor parts, offers a unique advantage. Players favoring Polearms or Heavy Melee weapons can now sever Abductor limbs without relying on Light Melee weapons. However, remember that the Flare Knife is a single-use item; repurchase is necessary for each Operation.
To use it, lock onto a severable Abductor part and use your Thorn to grapple towards it. With the Flare Knife equipped, a severing option will appear, initiating a quick-time event (QTE). Successfully depleting the QTE bar severs the limb. Be warned: Abductors may attempt to interrupt by leaping or crashing into walls.
Cooperative online play provides an advantage. Snare the Abductor repeatedly with your teammates to create easier severing opportunities.
