Marvel Rivals Unveils Sanctum Sanctorum: A First Look at Season 1's New Map and Doom Match Mode

Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, "Eternal Night Falls," launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, introduces a thrilling new map: the Sanctum Sanctorum. This iconic location will serve as the battleground for the game's newest mode, Doom Match, a free-for-all showdown for 8-12 players where the top 50% emerge victorious.

The Sanctum Sanctorum is just one of three new maps arriving in Season 1. Midtown Manhattan will host a new convoy mission, while Central Park's features remain largely under wraps, promised for a mid-season update.

A recent video showcased the Sanctum Sanctorum's unique blend of opulent decor and surreal elements. Expect floating kitchenware, a bizarre refrigerator inhabitant, winding staircases, levitating bookshelves, and mystical artifacts – all set against a backdrop featuring a cheerful portrait of Doctor Strange himself. The trailer even offers a sneak peek at Wong and Doctor Strange's ghostly canine companion, Bats. The level of detail is clearly a testament to the developers' dedication.

This season's narrative pits the Fantastic Four against Dracula, who has ensnared Doctor Strange. Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman join the fight at launch, with the Human Torch and The Thing slated for the mid-season update.
