Metro 2033's "Cursed" Mission: A Comprehensive Guide

Despite its age, Metro 2033 remains a fan favorite, especially after the release of Metro Awakening. This guide focuses on the challenging "Cursed" mission, often confusing for players due to unclear objectives and the station's layout.

The mission begins after the anomaly event at Turgenevskaya station. After exiting the railcar, follow Khan to the defenders near the barricaded escalators.

Locating the Bomb

Bomb Location The defenders explain that an explosives team went missing while attempting to collapse the tunnel, preventing further nosalis attacks. Your task is to find and detonate the bomb. Expect constant nosalis attacks; retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed. The bomb is located at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid the ghostly shadows to prevent damage. Retrieve the bomb and either proceed to the adjacent tunnel or retreat if necessary.

Destroying the Tunnel

Tunnel Destruction To detonate the bomb, enter the left-hand tunnel (from the defenders' perspective) and wait for the cutscene. Artyom automatically plants and lights the fuse; escape immediately to avoid the blast. Alternatively, a grenade or pipe bomb will achieve the same result. Note: nosalises can still enter through other paths.

Destroying the Airlock

Airlock Destruction To secure the station completely, destroy the airlock. Ascend the stairs on the right to the torchlit area. Ignore the nosalises and interact with the support columns to plant a pipe bomb. Evacuate immediately after lighting the fuse. With both entrances destroyed, proceed with Khan to the shrine room and the "Armory" mission.
