Moon Knight Will Return, but Not in a Season 2, Marvel Exec Says

Marvel's Moon Knight: Future Appearances Confirmed, Season 2 Unlikely

While a second season of Moon Knight on Disney+ is off the table, Marvel has confirmed that Oscar Isaac's character will return to the MCU in a different capacity. Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, confirmed this in a recent interview with ComicBook.

The shift away from a Season 2 stems from a change in Marvel Television's strategy. Previously, the focus was on establishing characters through individual shows before integrating them into larger MCU projects (like Ms. Marvel leading to The Marvels). Now, the approach is geared towards standalone, annually released series, more akin to traditional television programming.

Winderbaum stated, "Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future…moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television." He expressed a desire for a Season 2 but confirmed alternative plans for the character's future.

While Isaac voiced Moon Knight in Marvel's What If…?, his return in live-action remains unannounced.

The current MCU television slate includes:

  • Daredevil: Born Again (March)
  • Ironheart (June)
  • Eyes of Wakanda (August)
  • Marvel Zombies (October)
  • Wonder Man (December)

Recently, Marvel paused production on Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc., but Winderbaum hinted at a potential revival of The Defenders, featuring Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist.
