Following recent claims by American accessory maker Genki, Nintendo has officially denied any involvement in Genki's CES 2025 presentation of a purported Nintendo Switch 2 mockup. Both CNET Japan and the Sankei newspaper reported Nintendo's statement confirming the displayed hardware and related information as unofficial and unauthorized.
Genki, known for its gaming accessories including controllers and SSDs, generated significant buzz at CES 2025 by showcasing a 3D-printed Switch 2 model and allegedly revealing a release date to attendees. They even feature a detailed Switch 2 accessory page on their website, complete with an animated mockup.
Despite Genki's claims, Nintendo remains tight-lipped about the actual Switch 2, only confirming backwards compatibility with the original Switch. This public denial suggests Nintendo may be preparing an official announcement to counter the speculation and unauthorized information circulating about the next-generation console.
