Nintendo Switch 2 Potential Platform for Marvel Rivals Revival

Marvel Rivals, the acclaimed hero shooter, is a smash hit on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, NetEase, the developer, has previously ruled out a Nintendo Switch release due to performance limitations. But what about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2?

Recently, at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, we spoke with Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu. The news for Switch fans is promising! A Switch 2 port is a definite possibility.

Wu stated: "We're already in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits. If we can ensure excellent performance on the Switch 2, we're absolutely open to releasing the game. The reason for skipping the original Switch was its inability to deliver a satisfactory gameplay experience. If that hurdle is overcome, we're in."

The Nintendo Switch 2 was officially unveiled last month. While specifics are still scarce, it's expected to be a more powerful and enhanced system. Interestingly, it appears to incorporate mouse-like controls, potentially bridging the gap between console and PC shooter experiences, though the precise implementation remains unclear.

While the Nintendo Switch 2 lacks a confirmed release date, a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for April 2nd. Marvel Rivals is currently available on other platforms, and we highly recommend it.
