Pokémon TCG Pocket's trading feature launch has been underwhelming, despite high player demand. This has led developers to announce a rework of the trading system.
As a temporary fix, all players will receive 1,000 Trade Tokens via the in-game Gifts menu. Trade Tokens are a currency needed for card trading. This giveaway aims to appease players while the trading system is being overhauled.
The initial trading system faced criticism due to restrictions, such as rarity limitations on tradable cards and the requirement for Trade Tokens. Many felt these restrictions were unnecessary and hampered the trading experience.
Reworking the Trading System
A simpler, more open trading system, or no trading at all, might have avoided the current controversy. While botting and exploitation are valid concerns, the existing restrictions likely haven't deterred determined players.
The upcoming rework hopefully addresses these concerns. A successful digital TCG trading system could significantly enhance the game's appeal as a viable alternative to the physical card game.
