Rumor: One of the Biggest Xbox Franchises Reportedly Coming to Switch 2, PS5

Rumor: Halo: MCC and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Headed to PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025

A recent report from industry insider NateTheHate suggests that Halo: The Master Chief Collection could be making its way to the PlayStation 5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The same source claims a 2025 release window for these potential ports. This isn't an isolated claim; another prominent leaker, Jez Corden, has independently stated that significantly more Xbox first-party titles will be released on multi-platform consoles in 2025.

Microsoft's initiative to broaden the availability of its first-party games began in February 2024, with titles like Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves leading the charge. As Dusk Falls, while not directly developed by a Microsoft subsidiary, also joined the multi-platform roster after an initial Xbox exclusivity period. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 arrived on other platforms in October 2024, and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is slated for a PS5 release in Spring 2025.

NateTheHate's report also indicates a potential multi-platform release for Microsoft Flight Simulator, likely referring to the recently launched MFS 2024. He suggests a similar 2025 release timeline for this franchise on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles.

The increased multi-platform releases align with Corden's prediction that the era of exclusive Xbox titles is ending. This shift is further solidified by Microsoft's ten-year commitment to bringing Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles, a deal likely awaiting the release of the more powerful Switch 2 to fully realize its potential.
