'Spider-Man 4' Release Delayed to Avoid 'The Odyssey' Clash

by Stella Feb 25,2025

The upcoming Tom Holland Spider-Man film has been pushed back a week, likely to avoid clashing with Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.

Sony's revised release schedule now lists the fourth Spider-Man movie for July 31st, 2026, instead of the previously announced July 24th. This two-week gap between The Odyssey and Spider-Man 4 provides both films with better access to IMAX screens, a preferred format for Nolan's releases.

This scheduling adjustment benefits both films, especially considering Tom Holland's starring role in both.

Marvel's announcement confirmed a fourth Spider-Man film starring Holland, slated as the next Marvel project after Avengers: Doomsday (May 1st, 2026). Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi) will direct, taking over from his previous commitment to the next Avengers film following script adjustments related to the Kang character.

The Russo Brothers have returned to helm Avengers: Doomsday, with Robert Downey Jr. surprisingly cast as Doctor Doom. This unexpected casting adds another layer of intrigue to the upcoming MCU projects. For a complete list of upcoming MCU films, check out [link to list, if applicable].
