Aspyr's upcoming release of Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles for modern consoles includes a surprising playable character: Jar Jar Binks. This revelation, along with a new gameplay trailer showcasing Binks wielding a staff, has generated significant buzz.
The 2000 original featured a roster of iconic characters, and this remastered version aims to capitalize on nostalgia while adding fresh content. Beyond lightsaber color customization and cheat code support, a wave of new playable characters has been announced, with Jar Jar Binks being the latest. The trailer highlights his characteristically chaotic combat style and voice lines. Jar Jar Binks will be available upon the game's January 23rd launch; pre-orders are currently open.
Newly Revealed Playable Characters:
Aspyr has confirmed nine additional new playable characters, with more to be unveiled. This expanded roster offers diversity, including familiar faces like the Staff Tusken Raider and Rodian, alongside various droid types. The inclusion of both Jar Jar Binks and the Gungan Guard is particularly noteworthy.
With the release date fast approaching, fans eagerly anticipate experiencing these new additions to Jedi Power Battles. Aspyr's track record with other classic Star Wars game updates, such as Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, suggests a promising reimagining of this beloved title.
