Sun Wukong to grace Nintendo Switch!

The gaming world often sees projects attempting to capitalize on the success of popular titles. However, Wukong Sun: Black Legend goes beyond mere inspiration, exhibiting concerning similarities to Game Science's acclaimed Black Myth: Wukong. The visual style, the protagonist wielding a staff, and the plot synopsis strongly suggest direct imitation.

Currently available for pre-order on the US eShop, the game's future remains uncertain. Given the apparent plagiarism, Game Science could pursue legal action for copyright infringement, potentially leading to the game's removal from the platform.

Wukong Sun: Black Legend's description reads: “Embark on an epic journey to the West. Play as the immortal Wukong, the legendary Monkey King, battling for order in a chaotic world teeming with powerful monsters and deadly dangers. Explore a story inspired by Chinese mythology, featuring intense battles, breathtaking locations, and legendary enemies.”

This closely mirrors the premise of Black Myth: Wukong, a Chinese mythology-based RPG from a small independent studio that unexpectedly soared in popularity, topping Steam charts. Black Myth: Wukong boasts exceptional detail, engaging gameplay, and challenging yet accessible combat, blending elements of the Souls-like genre with a beginner-friendly approach. The combat system is thoughtfully designed, demanding strategic thinking without overwhelming players with complex mechanics. Visually, the game's fluid animations create stunningly beautiful battles.

The game's strength lies in its captivating setting and visual design. Its fairy-tale atmosphere, coupled with remarkable character design and world-building, is incredibly immersive. Many gamers believe Black Myth: Wukong deserved a "Game of the Year 2024" nomination at The Game Awards.
