This guide details how to complete Infested Clear missions in 7 Days To Die, focusing on efficient strategies and maximizing rewards.
To begin, you must reach Trader Tier 2 by finishing 10 Tier 1 missions. Any of the five standard traders (Rekt, Jen, Bob, Hugh, and Joe) can offer these missions. Higher tier missions present greater difficulty, influenced by both the mission tier and the biome's enemy types (Wasteland missions are tougher than forest missions). Infested missions are significantly harder than standard clear missions, featuring increased zombie numbers and tougher variants (radiated zombies, cops, ferals). Tier 6 missions are the most challenging but offer the best rewards for well-prepared players. The objective remains consistent across all tiers: eliminate all enemies within a designated area.
Upon reaching the Point of Interest (POI), activate the mission marker. Leaving the POI or dying results in mission failure. POIs often have pre-set paths; avoid these to bypass traps and gain a tactical advantage. Carry building blocks to escape traps or create alternative routes.
Activated zombies are indicated by red dots on the screen; larger dots signify closer proximity. Prioritize headshots. Note these enemy types and strategies:
Zombie Type | Abilities | Counter-Strategy |
---|---|---|
Cops | Spit toxic vomit, explode when injured | Maintain distance, use cover before they spit. |
Spiders | Jump long distances | Listen for their screech before they jump; use headshots. |
Screamers | Summon other zombies | Eliminate them first to prevent overwhelming hordes. |
Demolition Zombies | Carry explosive packages | Avoid hitting their chests; run if the explosive beeps. |
The final room contains high-tier loot but also a large number of zombies. Ensure you're fully healed, weapons are loaded and durable, and you know the escape route before entering.
After clearing all zombies, the objective changes; return to the trader to claim your reward. Collect all loot, including the Infested Cache, which typically contains valuable ammo and supplies.
Rewards are random but influenced by game stage, loot stage (boosted by the Lucky Looter skill and Treasure Hunter mod), mission tier, and perk selection. The "A Daring Adventurer" perk is crucial; at rank 4, it allows selecting two rewards instead of one, significantly increasing the value of completed missions. Selling unwanted items to the trader provides additional XP (1 XP per Duke).
