Ananta: NetEase's Open-World RPG Unveiled
NetEase Games and Naked Rain have finally revealed the official title for their mysterious Project Mugen: Ananta. A new promotional video (PV) and teaser trailer showcase the urban open-world RPG, offering a clearer picture of its gameplay and setting.
The PV provides a glimpse into Ananta's sprawling cityscape, Nova City, its diverse cast of characters, and the looming threat of chaotic forces from another realm. While comparisons to MiHoYo's titles, particularly Zenless Zone Zero, are inevitable, Ananta distinguishes itself, especially in its impressive movement mechanics. The game promises a blend of charming characters and stylish combat, a popular formula in today's 3D RPG market.
Dynamic Movement and Exploration
The PV highlights impressive character movement. Whether this translates to seamless traversal across Nova City's streets and rooftops remains to be seen, but the potential for Spider-Man-style exploration is exciting.
While Ananta shares similarities with Genshin Impact and other Hoyoverse titles, NetEase aims to carve its own niche in the 3D gacha RPG genre. The question is whether Ananta can truly stand out and potentially challenge the current market leaders.
