One of the most famous CoD players thinks the series is in the worst state now

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is facing significant challenges, despite the success of Marvel Rivals. Prominent YouTubers and competitive players are expressing serious concerns about a dramatic decline in player engagement. Several have ceased creating content for the game, with legendary figures like OpTic Scump publicly voicing their disappointment.

Scump, a prominent figure whose career was built on the Call of Duty franchise, claims the series is in its worst state ever. He attributes this largely to the premature release of the ranked mode, compounded by a poorly functioning anti-cheat system that has resulted in rampant cheating.

Streamer FaZe Swagg dramatically switched from Call of Duty to Marvel Rivals during a live stream, fueled by frustration over persistent connectivity issues and an overwhelming number of hackers. His stream even included a live counter tracking hacker encounters.

These issues are further exacerbated by heavy nerfing of the zombies mode, hindering the acquisition of desirable camouflage skins, and an oversaturation of cosmetic items. Critics argue the game prioritizes monetization over meaningful gameplay improvements. Considering the franchise's historically massive budgets, the current situation, while understandable, is deeply concerning. Player patience is finite, and the game appears to be nearing a critical juncture.
