Onimusha: Way of the Sword Gets a Bunch of New Details

PlayOnimusha: Way of the Sword is slated for a 2026 release, and Capcom has shared some thrilling details about what fans can expect from this eagerly anticipated return to the franchise.

The development team is focusing on three key elements: crafting compelling characters, introducing a new protagonist, and designing engaging enemies. They're committed to recreating the historical setting of Kyoto, filled with real-life locations, to immerse players in the game's world. The ultimate goal is to deliver the "ultimate sword fighting action" experience, emphasizing the visceral thrill of slicing through enemies.

Set in the Edo Period, Onimusha: Way of the Sword will see players battling the evil Genma. The protagonist, due to a twist of fate, will wield an Oni Gauntlet, using it to vanquish foes and feed it souls. The game aims to be challenging yet accessible, ensuring that action fans of all skill levels can enjoy it to the fullest.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny Is Getting a Remastered Version in 2025

PlayThe 2002 classic, Onimusha: Samurai's Destiny, is set to receive a remastered version in 2025. This remaster is expected to tide fans over until the release of Onimusha: Way of the Sword in 2026.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 to Feature Flagship Monster Arkveld

PlayThe second Open Beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds is on the horizon, and Capcom has revealed what players can expect. The highlight is the introduction of the new flagship monster, Arkveld, featured in an advanced quest designed to challenge players.

Additional features include a Gypceros Hunt, a training area, and online options such as Private Lobbies and Online Single Player mode. Private Lobbies are ideal for playing with friends without appearing in public searches, while Online Single Player allows players to enjoy the game solo but with the option to use an S.O.S. Flare for multiplayer assistance when needed.

Players can transfer their data from the first Open Beta to the second, with returning features like Character Creator, Story Trial, and the Doshaguma hunt. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28, with the second Open Beta, featuring Cross-Play, scheduled for:

  • Thursday, February 6 at 7pm PT to Sunday, February 9 at 6:59pm PT
  • Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PT to Sunday, February 16 at 6:59pm PT
PlayParticipants in the Open Beta will be able to transfer their character data to the full game, though no game progression will carry over. As a bonus, players will receive a special Pendant for participating.

Monster Hunter Wilds Reveals Iceshard Cliffs and New Enemies Just Waiting to Be Fought

The Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase unveiled a new story trailer set in the frozen locale of the Iceshard Cliffs. Players will encounter new enemies such as the quirky Wudwud known as Rove, the Hirabami - Leviathan, Nerscylla - Temnoceran, and the ferocious Gore Magala. Street Fighter 6 Adds Fatal Fury's Mai on February 5

PlayStreet Fighter 6 will welcome Fatal Fury's Mai to its roster on February 5. Mai is the second-last character to be added in Year 2, following M. Bison and Terry. The final character, Elena, will be introduced later, with more details to come.
