I've been reminded that I might be showing a little too much favoritism towards Marvel Snap. While I regularly cover its updates, other Marvel games often get relegated to my Monday "Best Updates" articles. That's a fair point! So, let's dedicate a Marvel Minute to see what other Marvel games are up to. It turns out Marvel Future Fight and Marvel Contest of Champions both have exciting events underway. Let's dive in!
First, Marvel Future Fight is celebrating Iron Man! Tony Stark, ever the innovator, is adding new suits and bigger guns to his arsenal. This event, inspired by Invincible Iron Man, features new threads for both Tony and Pepper. Here's the scoop from the update notes:
“Invincible Iron Man has joined Marvel Future Fight.
Upgrade your suits and defeat enemies!
New Uniforms Added! – Iron Man, Rescue
New Tier-4 Advancement! – War Machine, Hulkbuster
New World Boss: Legend+ Added! – The Black Order returns: Corvus & Proxima
New Custom Gear, ‘C.T.P. of Liberation’ Added!
200 Crystals Event – Link your email account to receive 200 crystals!”
Now, let's check out the ever-popular fighting game, Marvel Contest of Champions. New events usually mean new playable characters, and this game’s roster is incredibly diverse. The character selection is impressive; I don't think we'll ever see another Marvel fighting game with such a varied lineup. Count Nefaria? Seriously?! As a long-time Marvel fan, I love seeing these lesser-known characters become playable. Let's look at the update notes:
“NEW CHAMPIONS
Count Nefaria
Descendant of Italian nobility, Count Luchino Nefaria used his wealth and influence to rise within the Maggia crime syndicate. Scientific experiments granted him superhuman abilities, but at the cost of his life. Later resurrected as pure ionic energy, he's effectively immortal, sustaining himself by draining other ionic beings.
Shathra
Daughter of the Elder Goddesses Oshtur and Gaea, Shathra hails from Loomworld. Tasked with creating the Celestial Map of Humanity, she was consumed by jealousy after being surpassed by her sister, Neith. Driven by vengeance, she unleashed her feral nature to destroy her sister's creation.
NEW QUESTS AND EVENTS
Event Quest – Lupus In Fabula
An attempt to overthrow The Collector's ship is underway! The Summoner must evict these villains, but deeper within the ship, they uncover even greater dangers and individual villainous plans. Will the Summoner succeed, or will they go down with the ship? Play Lupus In Fabula to find out!
Side Quest – Ludum Maximus
The Maestro has declared four months of celebratory games to honor his return. The festivities begin with the Circus Maximus, a series of challenges hosted by Count Nefaria. Nefaria demands only the best, so dare to enter Ludum Maximus! 5x weekly maps with randomized paths and formidable foes await.
Act 9; Chapter 1
Glykhan has self-destructed, but Ouroboros's sinister plots continue. Clues are scarce, but Superior Kang offers secrets in the form of holo-tapes scattered across Battleworld. Mister Fantastic and Doctor Doom send the Summoner on an intel mission, but they aren't the only ones seeking answers. Will the past haunt Battlerealm? Discover the truth in Act 9 – Chapter 1: THE RECKONING
Glorious Games
Introducing our third Saga: Glorious Games! To celebrate the Contest's history and The Maestro's return, four months of celebratory games are planned. Each month focuses on a different game element, starting with September's Circus Maximus and culminating in December's Grand Banquet! Featuring a classical antiquity theme, a Champion chase, Champion reworks, and new Events and Quests, Glorious Games celebrates our 10-year anniversary in style!
Realm Events
Collaborate with Summoners across Battlerealm! Realm Events are new events where points contribute globally. Claim milestone rewards upon reaching global and individual point thresholds. Ranked rewards, including a unique player title, are also available for competitive Summoners.”
That's it! Both events look fantastic. If you haven't played these games or haven't played them in a while, this is a great time to jump back in. I'm definitely checking out Count Nefaria. Look at him! So nefarious! Okay, I'll stop now. Enjoy!
