No More Collecting Stage Girls! Revue Starlight Re LIVE Announces Its EOS

Revue Starlight Re LIVE is officially shutting down. The mobile game, based on the popular anime, will cease operations on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC. After nearly six years on Android, this chapter of the Revue Starlight saga is coming to an end.

Why the Shutdown?

While initially a promising extension of the anime's story, Revue Starlight Re LIVE struggled over the past five and a half years. Players noticed declining quality, including repetitive events, reused assets, and excessively expensive battle passes. Storyline inconsistencies, such as the abrupt shift from The Giraffe storyline to a less engaging narrative, also contributed to its decline. The closure affects the game globally, including Japan.

Despite its shortcomings, the game had positive aspects. Its soundtrack, featuring music from the anime, and the high-quality 3D graphics and Live2D animations were widely appreciated.

A Final Farewell?

Although the servers are closing soon, players still have a few weeks to enjoy the game. Developers are launching several events in August and September to thank players. These include a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering 10 free pulls daily and a two-month birthday celebration featuring "New Stage Girl Gacha" events at the start of each month. Download the game from the Google Play Store for one last hurrah.
