Basic Information

Elytra are unique, rare items allowing players to glide, significantly speeding up exploration, especially when combined with fireworks. They resemble real wings when in use, and a cloak when folded. While naturally found only in the End after defeating the Ender Dragon, within ships near End Cities, alternative acquisition methods exist in other game modes.

How to Get Elytra in Minecraft Survival Mode

Preparing for Battle

Thorough preparation is crucial. Diamond or Netherite armor, ideally enchanted for protection, is essential. A well-enchanted sword and bow (consider Infinity or Power for the bow) are vital for combat. Stock up on arrows or crossbow bolts, and don't forget fireworks for extra firepower. Potions of regeneration, strength, and slow falling provide significant advantages. Golden apples offer crucial emergency healing, and blocks aid in reaching End Crystals. Activating the Portal to the End

Activating the End portal requires 12 Eyes of Ender. Each Eye needs Blaze Powder (from Blaze Rods dropped by Blazes in Nether Fortresses) and an Ender Pearl (dropped by Endermen). Crafting an Eye of Ender involves combining one of each in the crafting grid.

Finding the Stronghold

Use Eyes of Ender to locate the Stronghold. Throw an Eye; it will fly towards the Stronghold, indicating its direction. Once near, dig down and navigate the Stronghold's perilous maze. Locate the portal room and place Eyes of Ender into the frames to activate the portal.

Battle with the Dragon
