Control 2 Stays Course Despite Departures

Annapurna Interactive's mass resignation leaves some projects unaffected. Control 2 and Wanderstop are among the games seemingly unaffected by the recent staff exodus at Annapurna Interactive.

Several developers have confirmed their projects' continued progress despite the upheaval. Remedy Entertainment, developers of Control 2, clarified their deal is with Annapurna Pictures and that they are self-publishing, ensuring continued development. Davey Wreden (The Stanley Parable) and Team Ivy Road similarly confirmed that Wanderstop remains on track. Matt Newell's Lushfoil Photography Sim, nearing completion, also appears unaffected, though the team acknowledges the loss of the Annapurna Interactive team. Beethoven & Dinosaur also confirmed that their upcoming title, Mixtape, continues development.

However, uncertainty clouds other projects, including No Code's Silent Hill: Downfall and several others, with developers yet to comment publicly. The status of Annapurna Interactive's internally developed Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth also remains unknown.

Annapurna Pictures CEO Megan Ellison affirmed their commitment to supporting their development and publishing partners. While the situation is fluid, many developers express optimism about their projects' futures.

The mass resignation of Annapurna Interactive's entire 25-person team followed failed negotiations for the studio's independence, adding to the industry's recent shakeups. Despite this, Annapurna Pictures remains dedicated to interactive entertainment.
