Critical Role Postpones Campaign 3 Climax Due to Los Angeles Fires

Critical Role has announced the cancellation of this week's episode of Campaign 3 due to the devastating fires affecting Los Angeles. The decision was made as the fires have directly impacted the cast, crew, and the broader Critical Role community. The team hopes to resume streaming on January 16, but fans are encouraged to remain patient as the situation may necessitate further delays in concluding the Dungeons and Dragons story.

As Campaign 3 approaches its finale, the narrative is intensifying with the last episode leaving fans on a significant cliffhanger. Bells Hells are confronting their most formidable challenge yet, with the potential loss of a team member adding to the tension. While the exact number of remaining episodes is uncertain, it's evident that the end of the third campaign is near, possibly paving the way for a new adventure using the Daggerheart TTRPG system.

The cancellation of the January 9 stream was necessitated by the dire circumstances caused by the fires in Los Angeles. Matt Mercer and Marisha Ray, key members of the Critical Role team, had to evacuate their home with little more than their dog Omar. Dani Carr, the Loremaster, reported being safe amidst the chaos, while producer Kyle Shire tragically lost his home and possessions, though he and his pets escaped unharmed. The rest of the cast has been actively sharing updates and relief efforts on social media, confirming their safety.

Critical Role aims to return to streaming on Beacon and Twitch after a week's hiatus, but the ongoing situation may lead to additional delays. The community, known as Critters, is urged to remain supportive and patient during this challenging time.

In response to the crisis, the Critical Role Foundation, supported by community donations, is contributing $30,000 to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund to aid those affected by the fires. This gesture underscores the show's commitment to its motto, "Don’t forget to love each other," as both the cast and the Critters rally to support the recovery efforts in Los Angeles.
