Anime streaming powerhouse Crunchyroll has recently launched the beloved cult-classic game, Crypt of the NecroDancer, on Android devices. This unique game, now titled 'Crunchyroll: NecroDancer' on mobile, invites players into a thrilling beat-driven adventure that combines elements of roguelike and rhythm gameplay. Developed by Brace Yourself Games, Crypt of the NecroDancer originally hit the PC market in April 2015. It previously made brief appearances on iOS in 2016 and Android in 2021, but now it's back with a bang on both iOS and Android, courtesy of Crunchyroll, packed with a plethora of fresh content.
In Crypt of the NecroDancer, you step into the shoes of Cadence, a rhythm-challenged protagonist on a mission to find her missing treasure-hunter father within a haunting, rhythm-infused crypt. As a roguelike game, each run offers a unique experience.
The game boasts 15 playable characters, each bringing their own distinct play styles and challenges to the table. Players move and groove to the beat of an original soundtrack by Danny Baranowsky, dodging enemies and collecting loot as they dance through procedurally generated dungeons. Every action, from moving to attacking, must be perfectly timed with the music. One missed beat can lead to your demise. You’ll encounter a variety of rhythmically inclined foes, from dancing skeletons to hip-hop-loving dragons. Check them out in the official trailer below!
Crunchyroll and the developers have enhanced Crypt of the NecroDancer for mobile with a range of exciting additions. Players can enjoy remixes, new content, and special Danganronpa character skins, perfect for fans of anime crossovers. The game also supports cross-platform multiplayer and modding, ensuring a dynamic and engaging experience.
For fans of Hatsune Miku, there's even more to look forward to: upcoming DLC featuring the virtual pop star and the Synchrony expansion are slated to arrive later this year. If you're a Crunchyroll subscriber, you can dive into this rhythm roguelike adventure right away. Don't miss out—check it out on the Google Play Store.
