Fake Elden Ring Nightreign Test Invites Circulated by Scammers

by Zoe Apr 21,2025

Bandai Namco has started sending out emails to confirm participation in the closed testing of Elden Ring Nightreign, set to take place from February 14 to 17, 2025. These lucky players will be the first to dive into the game, designed to support a thrilling three-person cooperative mode, as detailed in the official correspondence.

Given Nightreign's soaring popularity, it's no surprise that scammers are capitalizing on the excitement by distributing fake testing invitations. Some players have reported receiving emails masquerading as official notifications from Bandai Namco, claiming to offer spots in the testing phase. These deceitful emails often include links to fraudulent websites designed to mimic the look of Steam.

Victims who click on these links are prompted to log in, only to lose access to their accounts. In some instances, players have received similar scam messages from friends whose accounts have already been compromised. Fortunately, some affected users were able to recover their accounts by reaching out to Steam support.

It's crucial to exercise caution with any links you receive and to verify the legitimacy of the sources. If in doubt, it's always best to stick to official channels and avoid following suspicious links.

In a related development, Elden Ring: Nightreign will not feature the messaging system familiar to fans of FromSoftware games. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in an interview, noting that the approximately forty-minute duration of Nightreign gaming sessions leaves insufficient time for players to send or read messages.
