"Freedom Wars Remastered: Weapon Types Detailed"

In *Freedom Wars Remastered*, you have the exciting opportunity to tailor your combat strategy by equipping two weapons of your choice before diving into an Operation. With a diverse arsenal of six weapon types at your disposal, you can craft a build that perfectly suits your preferred play style. Each weapon type offers unique effects, especially when charged up, and comes in three gun and three melee varieties, all of which are highly customizable.

Every Weapon Type in Freedom Wars Remastered

You can acquire new weapons by successfully completing Operations or by purchasing them from the Zakka store in The Warren. While you can't select the weapons for your Comrades, you have full control over equipping your Accessory. Feel free to switch your weapons or your Accessory's weapons at any time without any advantages or drawbacks to frequent changes. Here's a detailed breakdown of the six weapon types and their unique traits:

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee
  • Quick attacks ideal for fast-paced playstyles and targeting single enemies.
  • Can sever Abductor limbs without the need for a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee
  • Delivers wide arcing attacks with significant damage potential.
  • Strategically placed attacks can strike multiple Abductor limbs, multiplying damage as if hitting multiple times.
  • Charged attacks can propel you into the air at the end of your combo.
  • Equipping this weapon slightly reduces your movement speed.
Polearm
  • Most attacks involve charging through enemies, helping you evade incoming attacks.
  • Charged-up attacks enable you to throw your polearm, dealing substantial damage from a safe distance.
Assault Weapons
  • Boasts a high total ammo capacity, making it an excellent primary choice for gun-focused builds.
  • Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne, offering better shooting angles or safe distances.
Portable Artillery
  • Delivers high single-shot damage but with limited overall ammo capacity.
  • Explosive area-of-effect shots that can damage multiple Abductor limbs simultaneously.
  • Reduces your movement speed when equipped.
Autocannons
  • Features a high rate of fire and large ammo and magazine capacities.
  • While individual shots may not deal high damage, the rapid fire compensates for this.
  • Equipping this weapon slows your movement speed.

It's worth noting that, unlike players, your Accessory doesn't need to worry about ammo when using gun weapons, adding another layer of strategic depth to your gameplay experience.
