In *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*, Goro Majima is equipped with two distinct fighting styles, including the "Sea Dog" pirate style, which features four potent finishers ideal for managing large crowds. Unlocking all the dark instruments in the game, however, is a challenging journey that enriches your gameplay experience.
The Dark God's Violin is the first Dark Instrument you'll unlock in *Pirate Yakuza* and is crucial for progressing the main storyline. You'll encounter it during Chapter 2 when Jason, a crew member, leads you to meet an old friend. Unfortunately, you'll find that the Devil Flag pirates have already killed Jason's friend and stolen the Pharoh Stone, a valuable treasure.
Following this, you'll meet Misaki, the orphaned daughter of Jason's slain friend, who joins your crew seeking revenge. This event sets the stage for a side story. To acquire the Dark God's Violin, follow the questline to the islands east of Madlantis. Here, you'll face a formidable fleet of Devil Flag pirates. Concentrate your attacks on the boss ship to board and engage in combat, ultimately leading to the acquisition of the Dark God's Violin after defeating the enemy.
After obtaining this powerful finishing move, you'll have the chance to test it in a 100-enemy brawl on the island. Subsequent to this, a cutscene introduces you to the fleet's captains: Yakuza, Ronin, Shinobi, and Zeus, challenging you to a sidequest. While not necessary for the main story, defeating the Devil Flags is essential for collecting all Dark Instruments.
After securing the Dark God's Violin and participating in the initial 100-enemy brawl, you'll notice special Devil Flag markers across the seas. Engaging and defeating these ships will earn you Devil Flags. You need to accumulate 70 Devil Flags to progress to the next Dark Instrument.
With the required flags, Atali Island becomes accessible on your map. Prepare a robust landing party to tackle the multiple waves of attackers on this treasure island. The ultimate prize here is the Dark God's Ocarina, which you can claim after defeating Captain Yakuza in a boss fight.
Following the defeat of Captain Yakuza, new objectives and cutscenes lead you to an island where the Pharoh Stone is supposedly hidden. However, it's a trap, leading to another 100-enemy fight where you can use your newly acquired Dark God's Ocarina.
The next destination is Flame Island, where Zeus is headed. You'll need a three-star ranking and 130 Devil Flags to proceed. Navigate to the Flame Entrance Lighthouse and conquer four treasure islands: Sunset, Heatwave, Welldone, and Scorching Heat. Remember, treasure islands restrict the use of health items during battles, so upgrading Goro and his crew is crucial.
After navigating these islands, another fleet battle awaits, where focusing on the boss ship is key. Once aboard, defeat the first mate to land on Flame Island with Jason, Masaru, Minami, and Saejima. Engage in smaller battles before facing Captain Ronin, using your Dark Instruments to secure victory and claim the Dark God of the Earth's Guitar.
The final Dark Instrument, the Dark God's Saxophone, requires a Pirate Rank Four and 220 Devil Flags. Achieve this rank by completing main story missions, recruiting crew members, and engaging in mini-games and side quests.
Sail to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse to trigger a cutscene and engage the Devil Flag's Fleet blocking Frost Island. Four additional islands (Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, and Glacial) are available for plundering and collecting more Devil Flags. Defeat Captain Shinobi's First Fleet before landing on Frost Island.
Navigate through a series of battles leading to a cave and a recovery area, then face Captain Shinobi in the final boss fight. After defeating him, a cutscene with Zeus unfolds, where he takes Misaki hostage. Successfully completing this level grants you the Dark God's Saxophone.
The last boss encounter involves defeating Zeus and rescuing Misaki, a challenging two-stage battle that requires a nearly fully upgraded Goromaru. While not necessary for collecting the Dark Instruments, it's a fitting conclusion to your journey.
This guide outlines how to obtain all Dark Instruments in *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*, enhancing your gameplay with Goro Majima's unique fighting styles.
