Following the successful launch of Quidditch Champions, Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed development of a sequel to the massively popular Hogwarts Legacy, 2023's top-selling game.
Warner Bros. Discovery has officially announced plans for a sequel to the critically acclaimed action RPG, Hogwarts Legacy. This follows the game's phenomenal success, selling over 24 million copies since its release and securing its place as 2023's best-selling title. During the Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels highlighted the sequel's importance:
"Developing a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is a top priority for us in the coming years," Wiedenfels stated. "We anticipate significant growth from our games business, and this sequel will be a major contributor."
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Games' David Haddad emphasized the game's high replayability as a key factor in its success, noting its strong appeal to fans. "Many players have returned to the game multiple times," Haddad said. He also praised the game's ability to bring the Harry Potter world to life in a fresh and engaging way for gamers, allowing them to truly immerse themselves in the story.
This immersive experience is what Haddad believes resonated so strongly with the community, propelling Hogwarts Legacy to the top of the sales charts. He added, "This is a position typically held by sequels from established franchises, and we are incredibly proud to have achieved this."
Game8 was particularly impressed by the game's stunning visuals, calling it the most visually impressive Harry Potter experience for fans. For a more detailed review, please see our link below.
