In Hyper Light Breaker, mastering the game's resources is key to unlocking a wealth of gear, permanent upgrades, and expanding your character roster. Navigating the various ways to acquire and utilize these resources can be challenging, but this guide aims to clarify everything you need to know about the seven essential resources in Hyper Light Breaker.

All resources are conveniently stored under the items tab in your inventory menu, allowing you to keep track of your collection effortlessly.

How to Get & Use Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker

Bright Blood is the most abundant resource you'll encounter in Hyper Light Breaker. You can gather it by defeating enemies, smashing destructible objects, and opening crates scattered throughout the Overgrowth. Additionally, you can boost your Bright Blood reserves by selling gear to vendors located in the Hub.

Bright Blood serves multiple purposes, enabling you to:

  • Loot Blades and Rails from fallen enemies in the Overgrowth.
  • Unlock Stashes and other crates within the Overgrowth.
  • Purchase new gear from vendors both in the Overgrowth and the Hub.
  • Upgrade your gear at designated vendors in the Hub.

How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker

Gold Rations are earned by successfully completing Cycles in Hyper Light Breaker. Initially, you'll complete Cycles by exhausting all four of your Rezes, which means dying four times. After using up your Rezes, head to the Telepad in the Hub to meet an NPC who will request specific materials to reset the Overgrowth, helping you progress toward earning more Gold Rations.

Gold Rations are crucial for the game's meta-progression system. They allow you to unlock permanent upgrades via Pherus Bit in the Hub. Moreover, you can use Gold Rations to unlock new services from vendors in the Hub, enhancing your overall gameplay experience.

How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker

Abyss Stones are obtained by defeating formidable Crowns, found behind gates in the Overgrowth. To challenge these bosses, you'll first need to collect Prisms, which are conveniently marked with yellow diamonds on the in-game map.

Like Gold Rations, Abyss Stones contribute to meta-progression. They can be used to boost the stats of your Sycoms and unlock new characters during the loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, providing significant advantages in your future adventures.

How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker

Keys are occasionally found in small containers throughout the Overgrowth, although these caches are not typically marked on the map, making them somewhat elusive.

Keys are essential for bypassing barriers in the Overgrowth, granting access to Stashes and other valuable loot containers. They also unlock entry to Labs, underground areas filled with enemies and items to collect.

How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker

MediGems are a vital resource obtained from small glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. They are crucial because they can be exchanged for Medkits at the Hub's Telepad and at Shrines within the Overgrowth.

To utilize MediGems, you must first expand your Medkit capacity to one by visiting Pherus Bit in the Hub and spending one Gold Ration to unlock the Medkit Capacity node.

How to Get & Use Core in Hyper Light Breaker

Cores are another meta-progression resource found in the Overgrowth's Stashes, marked by chest icons on the map. You can also acquire Cores by combining four Core Shards, which are earned by defeating Prism-awarding enemies and from unmarked lootable objects like bone piles.

Cores allow you to upgrade your Sycom during loadout confirmation, enhancing your Breaker's stats before venturing into the Overgrowth.

How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker

Materials are primarily obtained by using Bright Blood to open small chests in the Overgrowth, often marked with gems on the map. You can also gather additional Materials by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.

Materials are used to purchase gear from vendors in both the Hub and the Overgrowth, functioning similarly to Bright Blood but with more specific applications.
