by Sadie Mar 27,2025

Gacha game enthusiasts are always eager to see how their favorite titles are performing financially. The latest data for January 2025 has just been released, providing an intriguing glimpse into the genre's top earners. Genshin Impact, developed by miHoYo (HoYoverse), took center stage with a major update featuring the pyro archon and the highly anticipated Mawuika banner. This update propelled the game's earnings to soar, doubling their revenue to an impressive $99.4 million, up from $45.6 million in December 2024.

Securing the second spot was Pokemon TCG, amassing $64 million, while the popular "female gacha" game, Love and Deepspace, claimed the third position with $55.2 million in earnings. Honkai Star Rail saw a dip in its revenue, earning $50.8 million, and Zenless Zone Zero experienced a significant drop, with its earnings halving from $57.9 million to $26.3 million.

It's important to note that these rankings focus exclusively on revenues generated from mobile platforms, even though some games, like those from miHoYo, are also available on PC. A key calculation nuance is also worth mentioning: "Since Google Play does not operate in China, estimates for Android data in the country are calculated using a multiplier based on iOS revenue there."
