Unraveling the Mystery of "Bad Blood" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers a wealth of side quests, many enriching the game's narrative and character development. This guide details how to initiate and complete the "Bad Blood" quest.

Starting the Quest:

After gaining open-world access in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, progress through the quest involving finding Mutt. This leads you to a clearing near Bozhena's hut. Speaking with Bozhena about Mutt reveals her daughter Pavlena's disappearance, prompting her request for help and initiating the "Bad Blood" quest.

Gathering Information:

  1. Troskowitz Investigation: Begin by speaking with Bailiff Thrush and Innkeeper Betty in Troskowitz. Their accounts shed light on Bozhena and Pavlena's history and their strained relationship with the village.

  2. Woodcutter's Clues: Interview Woodcutter Dushko, leading you to Roman's house. (Note: Lockpicking is required; save beforehand.) Examine Pavlena's basket inside.

  3. The Clearing: Further questioning of Dushko directs you to a clearing, a favorite spot for Roman and Pavlena. Following a blood trail reveals Roman's corpse. Subsequent conversations with Hogerd Hugo and Hired Hand Straw (requiring a successful dialogue check) expose Jakesh's involvement and the true events.

  4. Confronting Thrush: Optional: Discuss your findings with Thrush to determine your next course of action regarding Straw.

  5. Investigating near Zhelejov: Proceed to the rocks south of Zhelejov for the next stage of the investigation.

Confronting Ota:

Ota and Pavlena

Locate Ota and Pavlena by navigating around a large boulder and climbing a ladder. High Charisma is beneficial for dialogue. The following options will persuade Ota to release Pavlena:

  • "What's your name?"
  • "Let her go and I'll let you go."
  • "I'll put in a good word for you with His Lordship."

Pavlena will subsequently kill Ota. Return to Bozhena with Pavlena.

Choosing Your Path: Kill or Make Peace?

Jakesh at his child's grave

The final decision involves Jakesh. Find him at his child's grave. You can choose to kill him or attempt reconciliation between him and Bozhena. Killing Bozhena is also a possibility, though less advisable. The quest concludes regardless of your choice.

Consequences of Your Actions:

  • Killing Jakesh: Reduces reputation in Troskowitz but significantly boosts it with Bozhena and Pavlena. Unlocks a new dialogue option with Pavlena and rewards you with Roman's gift to her.

  • Making Peace: Rewards you with 100 groschen from Jakesh (which you can keep or share with Bozhena). Allows Bozhena and Pavlena to return to the settlement.
