Longvinter Exits Early Access on Steam: PC

After an intensive three-year journey filled with player feedback and bug fixes, Longvinter has triumphantly exited early access on Steam with the launch of version 1.0. The developers proudly announced this milestone, ushering in a series of updates designed to rejuvenate the experience for both new players and dedicated fans alike.

The most significant feature in this update is the introduction of oil rigs scattered throughout the archipelago. Players now have the opportunity to extract oil, refine it into fuel, and engage in thrilling battles against mercenaries from the Longvinter Resources Incorporated (LRI), who control the vital supply lines. Adding to the excitement, new events have been integrated into the game, including helicopter crashes that offer tactical gear and an underground arena where players can compete for valuable rewards every hour.

The game world has been enriched with a diverse range of new wildlife, such as lynxes, wolves, wolverines, foxes, moose, and goats, which players can now tame as mounts. The update also brings a plethora of new items, including hats that provide buffs, combat vests, weapons, explosives, kitchen recipes, and interactive objects for building and decorating, such as oil refineries, refrigerators, microwaves, power poles, and turrets. Additionally, significant adjustments have been made to weapon balance, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

Looking to the future, the forthcoming 1.1 update promises to introduce farming mechanics, a revamped tutorial for beginners, apartment rentals, and shared communities. Moreover, the developers have confirmed that Longvinter will make its debut on PlayStation in 2026, broadening its appeal beyond the PC gaming community.
