As a dedicated fan, I'm thrilled with this latest installment. The breathtaking graphics, epic monster battles, stunning gear, and weapons are just the tip of the iceberg. And let's not forget the beautifully crafted, delicious in-game food. Okay, I admit I got a bit carried away with the food! In this article, I'll provide a brief overview of the game and detail its system requirements.

What is the project about?

Let's be honest, the story in Monster Hunter Wilds is not its strongest suit. It's clichéd, boring, and frankly, uninteresting. However, this series has never been about the narrative. Fans play for the thrill of the hunt, not for a deep storyline. The protagonist, now able to speak, engages in dialogues that feel somewhat artificial, reminiscent of AI-generated text. These dialogues span across six in-game chapters.

The real heart of Monster Hunter Wilds lies in its intense, lengthy, yet exhilarating battles with a variety of unique monsters. The game follows a protagonist, customizable as male or female, on an expedition to uncharted lands, spurred by the discovery of a child named Nata in the desert. This child, the sole survivor of a tribe attacked by a mysterious creature dubbed the "White Ghost," leads our hero on a quest filled with drama and absurdity.

While the story has become more structured and the world more detailed, it still doesn't qualify as a story-driven game. Moreover, the game often restricts player freedom, forcing adherence to a linear script that can feel tiring by the tenth hour of play.

Completing the campaign will take around 15-20 hours. For those who crave freedom and hunting, the story might feel like a hurdle rather than an incentive. Fortunately, most dialogues and cutscenes can be skipped, which is a major plus for players like me who prefer to focus on the action.

Hunting in Monster Hunter Wilds has been streamlined. When you strike a monster, wounds appear on its body. By targeting these wounds correctly, you can deal massive damage and obtain valuable monster parts, which are now automatically collected—a convenient feature that deserves commendation. The introduction of rideable pets, like Seikret, adds another layer of ease. Seikret automatically rushes toward your target or any location on the map at maximum speed. If knocked down, you can summon Seikret to quickly get back into the fight, a feature that has saved me on numerous occasions when my health was critically low.

I appreciate how Seikret navigates to your chosen destination, eliminating the need to constantly check the map. Additionally, the game offers fast travel options to camps, making navigation even smoother.

In Monster Hunter Wilds, traditional health bars for monsters are absent, just as in previous games. Instead, players must interpret the enemy's movements, animations, and sounds to understand their condition. However, your companion now vocalizes the monster's status, adding a new layer of information. Monsters have also evolved, using environmental tactics more frequently, such as hiding in crevices or climbing ledges. Some species form packs, challenging you with multiple foes simultaneously. But don't worry; you can call for backup from other players or NPCs, making solo hunts more manageable and enjoyable.
