Netflix is adapting the hit video game Sifu into a film. Initially announced in 2022 as a collaboration between Story Kitchen and Sloclap (the game's developer), the project has expanded its production team. Deadline reports that T.S. Nowlin (known for Maze Runner and Netflix's Project Adam) is now writing the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad's involvement remains unclear, Chad Stahelski (director of the John Wick franchise) and his company, 87Eleven Entertainment, are on board as executive producers. Stahelski is also working on the Ghost of Tsushima adaptation.

Released in 2022, Sifu sold over one million copies in its first three weeks. The game follows a young martial artist's quest for vengeance after their master's murder. Using a mystical pendant that allows resurrection at the cost of accelerated aging, the protagonist faces numerous challenges in their perilous journey.
