NieR: Automata's opening throws players into 2B's mission. After landing your flight unit and engaging in melee combat, you'll acquire a one-handed and a two-handed sword.

The two-handed Virtuous Treaty is a powerful weapon, temporarily lost after the prologue. However, it's readily reacquired once free-roaming is unlocked in the next chapter.

1. Where To Find the Virtuous Treaty in NieR: Automata

This early-game weapon is located near your initial spawn point after exiting the bunker. Upon landing in the city ruins, descend to the lower area. To the left, you'll spot a highway above the nearest access point. Proceed towards the highway, utilizing the ruins to climb onto the road. This path leads back towards the factory.

Jump down to the factory and follow the grassy path towards the main building. An access point and stairs to an upper area are located on the left. On the left side of this upper area, near the destroyed bridge where you fought the Goliath, you'll find the Virtuous Treaty embedded in the ground.

Your old body, containing your prologue consumables, is just to the right of the sword.

2. Virtuous Treaty Stats in NieR: Automata

• Attack: 300-330
• Combo: Lt 2 Hv 2

This two-handed sword, typical of its kind, delivers wide-sweeping attacks, inflicting substantial damage on multiple enemies. Its attack speed is slower, however. Upgrades can potentially make this one of the highest-damage weapons, provided you adapt to its slower pace. Combining it with a faster weapon via a heavy attack during a combo mitigates the slow attack speed while still capitalizing on its high damage output. While you won't achieve a full combo with this weapon alone, the added burst damage is significant.
