Capcom has recently unveiled exciting new gameplay footage for their highly anticipated 2026 action game, Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Adding to the excitement, the game will feature the legendary historic swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi, at its helm.

During the PlayStation State of Play event, Capcom treated fans to a fresh trailer showcasing the sword-based action gameplay of Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Despite the release being scheduled for 2026, the visuals and combat mechanics appear promising, with Musashi taking on formidable adversaries.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword not only showcases Musashi's unparalleled sword skills but also highlights his roguish and comedic personality. Capcom describes the game as a dark fantasy action title featuring one of Japan's most renowned historical figures. Interestingly, Musashi's character has been modeled after the iconic Japanese actor, Toshiro Mifune, who famously portrayed Musashi in samurai films.

Set in a Kyoto overrun by the malevolent force known as Malic, which is summoning Hell and its denizens into Japan, Onimusha: Way of the Sword promises an immersive experience. This marks the first new entry in the Onimusha series in two decades. Additionally, Capcom has announced a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, set to release on May 23, 2025, to reignite fans' excitement ahead of the new game.
