Pirate Software Kicked Out of OnlyFangs World of Warcraft Guild

Pirate Software Expelled from OnlyFangs WoW Guild Following Dire Maul Incident

Following a disastrous Dire Maul North run resulting in multiple Hardcore character deaths, streamer Pirate Software has been removed from the prominent World of Warcraft guild, OnlyFangs. The expulsion, orchestrated by Guild Master Sodapoppin, stems from Pirate Software's refusal to accept responsibility for the incident.

The recent addition of Dire Maul to the WoW Classic Anniversary servers has proven challenging, contributing to several OnlyFangs Hardcore player deaths. While Hardcore rulesets existed prior to Blizzard's official Hardcore servers (launched August 2023), the Anniversary servers (November 2024) revitalized Classic, drawing players away from the original servers and leading to numerous Hardcore character deaths. This incident, resulting in the deaths of Sara and Snupy, proved to be the final straw for OnlyFangs.

Sodapoppin's Discord announcement cited widespread guild discomfort with Pirate Software following the deaths. The incident unfolded when the group pulled a boss prematurely, triggering a pack of Gordok ogres. Despite a call to reset the encounter, Pirate Software abandoned the group during the escape, contributing to the fatalities. While typically OnlyFangs would have applied less stringent rules, Pirate Software's unwillingness to acknowledge his role, coupled with alleged threats to other streamers (as suggested by Mizkif), sealed his fate. (Note: A video detailing the event contains strong language).

The core issue, as highlighted by Sodapoppin during a post-incident review, was Pirate Software's failure to utilize crowd control abilities effectively. The use of Blizzard rank 1, Sodapoppin argued, could have mitigated the threat without excessive mana expenditure.

Pirate Software's Twitter response disputed the guild's handling of the situation. Given the history of member departures from OnlyFangs since its reformation on the Doomhowl Anniversary server, this event might catalyze the formation of new raiding groups. With Blizzard's ongoing Classic updates introducing new content, the potential for further OnlyFangs Hardcore casualties remains high.
