For those tackling the "Echoes of Time" quests in Blast from the Past Week 2, the subsequent "Inventing the Past" quests require finding Plathinum and Ironyum for Emit. Thankfully, this hunt is straightforward. The process is identical to finding the Special Time Capsule.
Simply locate an area with rocks and dirt mounds (parks are ideal). Pause the game to carefully scan the area. Once you spot a diggable spot, walk over and dig. It might take a few attempts, but you'll eventually unearth Plathinum and Ironyum, unlocking the Time Travel Component quest.
If you're struggling to find dig sites, speeding up in-game time can help generate more rocks and mounds. However, avoid spending too long in fast-forward mode, as you might miss your chance to dig.
