Completely unexpectedly, early gameplay footage of the next Fable installment surfaced during the Official Xbox Podcast. The video offers glimpses into diverse game world locations, the combat system, a variety of enemies, and even a brief cutscene. The iconic chicken kick also makes a return.
Previously, the head of Xbox Game Studios confirmed a delay for Fable, pushing its release from 2025 to 2026. The reason given was the need for further polish and refinement.
Announced on July 23, 2020, the reboot of this iconic series has remained largely shrouded in secrecy. Three years post-announcement, it became apparent that Fable was still in its early development stages.
The involvement of Eidos Montreal alongside main developer Playground Games, coupled with the prolonged absence of polished gameplay footage, suggests the game faced considerable challenges.
