Square Enix Hints at Visual Upgrades for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PS5

The PC version of the game not only boasts significantly superior visuals compared to the PS5 version but also offers a more stable performance. This has sparked a lively discussion within the gaming community about the necessity for an update to enhance the PS5 experience. Currently, players on the PS5 are facing issues such as blurry visuals when using performance mode, leaving base console owners eagerly awaiting patches that could address these concerns. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has acknowledged the potential for improvements, stating, "After releasing the promo for the PC version, we received a lot of requests for a similar update for the PS5 version, and I think we'd like to do it at some point within the limits of what's possible with the PS5 version's performance." Fans are hopeful that Square Enix will heed these requests and enhance the visual quality on consoles.

While the development team is diligently working on the sequel, Hamaguchi has asked fans to remain patient as more information will be forthcoming. He highlighted that 2024 was a successful year for Final Fantasy Rebirth, the second installment of the trilogy, which garnered attention and accolades from players worldwide. Looking ahead, the third installment of Final Fantasy VII poses unique challenges as the developers strive to expand the game's fan base. Interestingly, Hamaguchi also expressed his admiration for Grand Theft Auto VI, noting that the title caught his attention this year. He extended his support to the Rockstar Games team, acknowledging the immense pressure they face following the phenomenal success of GTA V.
