Live-Action ‘Driver’ Series ShelvedUbisoft Still ‘Actively Working’ On Other Driver Projects
Ubisoft has confirmed with Game File that the live-action show adaptation of Driver, its series of action-adventure driving games, will not be pushing through. Back in 2021, they announced on their official website that they would be streaming the series exclusively on Binge.com, as part of Ubisoft’s mission "to bring our games to life in new and exciting ways and create content set in the world, culture, and community of gaming," Ubisoft Film & Television head Danielle Kreinik said.
The partnership had fallen through because Hotrod Tanner LLC, one of its movie-related subsidiaries (and also named after Driver’s main character) shuttered last January. "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series," a spokesperson from Ubisoft informed Game File.
But Driver fans, have no fear! Ubisoft has assured that it still is "actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise" and that they can’t wait to announce them to the world in the future. There are no exact details as to what those projects are as of writing, so be sure to stay tuned for more Driver updates!
