Ubisoft Leaks: Rainbow Six Siege 2 in Development with Enhanced Graphics

According to insider information from a source known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is set to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled to take place at the MGM Music Hall from February 14th to 16th. The project, reportedly codenamed Siege X, will operate on an updated engine, promising enhanced graphics with revamped textures and models. Additionally, Ubisoft might not bring back the old temporary events from the original game, opting instead for fresh new events. If the rumors hold true, fans can expect the release of Rainbow Six Siege 2 during the second season of the tenth year of support, roughly around mid-2025.

Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, expressed that a full sequel was unnecessary given the ongoing development of the current game. However, if the leak turns out to be accurate, it appears Ubisoft may have reconsidered their stance. As with all leaks and rumors, it's crucial to approach this information with caution until an official statement from Ubisoft confirms the news.

The Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, known as Six Invitational 2025, is on the horizon, set to be hosted in Boston. A total of twenty teams will vie for a piece of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the championship title. Oxygen Esports, having triumphed in the North American Last Chance Qualifier, secured the final spot in the tournament.

While it's unusual to see twenty teams competing, Ubisoft is likely to maintain the format used in previous years. This typically involves four groups engaging in a round-robin format among five teams, leading into a Double Elimination playoff. However, there's always the possibility of a surprise format change. In the playoffs, the first-place team skips the initial round, the fourth-place team starts in the lower bracket, other teams enter the upper bracket, and the last-placed team from each group is eliminated.
